The 12 Steps<\/h3>\n
1.\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n
We admitted we were powerless<\/div>\n
over our addiction and that our<\/div>\n
lives had become unmanageable.<\/div>\n
2.<\/b><\/div>\n
We came to believe that a power \ngreater<\/div>\n
than ourselves could restore us to sanity.<\/div>\n
3.<\/b><\/div>\n
We made a decision to turn our<\/div>\n
will and our lives over to the care<\/div>\n
of God as we understood God.<\/div>\n
4.<\/b><\/div>\n
We made a searching and<\/div>\n
fearless moral inventory of<\/div>\n
ourselves.<\/div>\n
5.<\/b><\/div>\n
We admitted to God, to ourselves,<\/div>\n
and to another human being the<\/div>\n
exact nature of our wrongs.<\/div>\n
6.<\/b><\/div>\n
We were entirely ready to<\/div>\n
have God remove all these<\/div>\n
defects of character.<\/div>\n
7.<\/b><\/div>\n
We humbly asked Him to<\/div>\n
remove our shortcomings.<\/div>\n
8.<\/b><\/div>\n
We made a list of all persons<\/div>\n
we had harmed and became<\/div>\n
willing to make amends to them all.<\/div>\n
9.<\/b><\/div>\n
We made direct amends to such<\/div>\n
people wherever possible, except<\/div>\n
when to do so would injure them<\/div>\n
or others.<\/div>\n
10.<\/b><\/div>\n
We continued to take personal<\/div>\n
inventory and when we were<\/div>\n
wrong promptly admitted it.<\/div>\n
11.<\/b><\/div>\n
We sought through prayer and<\/div>\n
meditation to improve our conscious<\/div>\n
contact with God as we<\/div>\n
understood Him, praying only<\/div>\n
or knowledge of His will for us and<\/div>\n
the power to carry that out.<\/div>\n
12.<\/b><\/div>\n
Having had a spiritual awakening<\/div>\n
as a result of these steps,<\/div>\n
we tried to carry this message to<\/div>\n
addicts, and to practice these<\/div>\n
principles in all our affairs.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div>
\t\t\t

The 12 Traditions<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n
1.\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n
Our common welfare should<\/div>\n
come first; personal recovery<\/div>\n
depends on NA unity.<\/div>\n
2.<\/b><\/div>\n
For our group purpose there is but<\/div>\n
one ultimate authority- a loving God<\/div>\n
as He may express Himself in our group<\/div>\n
conscience. Our leaders are but trusted<\/div>\n
servants; they do not govern.<\/div>\n
3.\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n
The only requirement for membership<\/div>\n
is a desire to stop using.<\/div>\n
4.\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n
Each group should be autonomous<\/div>\n
except in matters affecting other<\/div>\n
groups or NA as a whole.<\/div>\n
5.\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n
Each group has but one primary<\/div>\n
purpose -to carry the message to<\/div>\n
the addict who still suffers.<\/div>\n
6.\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n
An NA group ought never endorse,<\/div>\n
finance, or lend the NA name to any<\/div>\n
related facility or outside enterprise,<\/div>\n
lest problems of money, property,<\/div>\n
or prestige divert us from our primary<\/div>\n
purpose.<\/div>\n
7.\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n
Every NA group ought to be<\/div>\n
fully self-supporting, declining<\/div>\n
outside contributions.<\/div>\n
8<\/b>.<\/b><\/div>\n
Narcotics Anonymous should remain<\/div>\n
forever nonprofessional, but our<\/div>\n
service centers may employ special<\/div>\n
workers.<\/div>\n
9.\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n
NA, as such, ought never be organized,<\/div>\n
but we may create service boards or<\/div>\n
committees directly responsible<\/div>\n
to those they serve.<\/div>\n
10.<\/b><\/div>\n
Narcotics Anonymous has no opinion<\/div>\n
on outside issues; hence the NA<\/div>\n
name ought never be drawn into<\/div>\n
public controversy.<\/div>\n
11.<\/b><\/div>\n
Our public relations policy is based on<\/div>\n
attraction rather than promotion; we need<\/div>\n
always maintain personal anonymity at<\/div>\n
the level of press, radio, and films.<\/div>\n
